DESCRIPTION
DRYLOK Concrete Floor Paint is specially formulated to protect and decorate
masonry floors in homes and industry, both indoors and outdoors. DRYLOK
Concrete Floor Paint is a scientifically formulated “treatment”
for masonry floors. It outperforms ordinary floor paint under traffic,
washings, weather, acids and alkalis.
SURFACE
PREP
Surfaces must be clean and free from dirt, dust, grease, oil,
soap, wax and the oily film left by sweeping compounds. Remove all loose
or flaking paint by wire brushing or scraping. Dull glossy painted surfaces
with UGL D-Gloss Liquid Sander or use sandpaper. On garage floors, DRYLOK
Concrete Floor Paint must be applied to bare concrete. For masonry surfaces
subject to heavy use (such as garage floors) highly troweled or extremely
smooth concrete, treat with DRYLOK Etch according to directions, before
applying DRYLOK Concrete Floor Paint. A properly etched surface should
look and feel like fine sandpaper. If surface remains smooth, repeat
the etching procedure.
APPLICATION
Stir
thoroughly. For unpainted surfaces, first coat should be thinned with
one pint of water per gallon. The first coat should be brushed well
into the surface. Brush or roller may apply the second coat. For best
results, apply two coats. Allow four hours drying time between coats.
Paint only when air and surface temperatures are 50°F or higher.
For Garage Floors, allow DRYLOK Concrete Floor Paint to dry five days
before subjecting to automobile use.
DRYING
TIME
The coating may be subject to light usage after 4 hours, heavy usage after
24 hours. When air and surface temperatures are below 65°F and/or
the relative humidity is above 50% the drying time will be extended.
CLEAN-UP
Brushes and rollers clean up easily in warm soapy water.
IMPORTANT
NOTE: When using two or more containers of the same color of
DRYLOK Concrete Floor Paint, mix together to assure color uniformity.
Floors that are subjected to hydrostatic water pressure (water seeping
from underneath the floor) or are continually damp cannot be satisfactorily
painted with any paint or coating. Moisture on basement floors caused
by water seeping through masonry walls or through floor-wall joints or
cracks must first be eliminated. Use DRYLOK Fast Plug, a quick setting
hydraulic cement, to fill floor-wall joints or cracks, and DRYLOK Masonry
Waterproofer to seal masonry walls. Does not exceed maximum VOC 100 g/L. |
